Sotheby’s London is presenting a stellar Copley as part of its May 25th auction of work from the collection of Alexander Iolas, Copley’s longtime dealer in New York and Europe. The acrylic work was first shown in 1970 at the Alexander Iolas Gallery in New York with other boldly-patterned early works from Copley’s Nouns series.
