A selection of William N. Copley paintings will be highlighted in Animal Farm, a group exhibition curated by artist Sadie Laska that will be held at The Brant Foundation from May 14 until September 15, 2017. Drawing from 1980s Pop icons in The Brant Collection (Haring, Basquiat, and Scharf), as well as loans from museums, galleries and other private collections, Laska has formed a selection of artists whose work is influenced by pop, politics and media. Fittingly, Laska has chosen examples from Copley’s X-Rated, Patriotic and Whorses series, which together will present an arresting slice of Copley’s exploration of political, sexual and personal imagery.
